For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God
(Ephesians 2:8 ESV)
Through our Lord Jesus Christ, God has graciously granted us eternal life. We are given this blessing not because we are “so good” that we deserve it, but because God sends His Son to redeem us from our sins. This is a grace we give thanks for daily. God loved us so much that He gave His only Son over to death to save His people. This blessed gift is one we acknowledge in our lives. Today, as we go about our tasks, let us never forget this blessing we’ve received: By grace, we have been saved through faith in our Lord Jesus Christ.
Prayer:
Almighty Father, thank you for giving me Your Holy Spirit in Baptism so I can firmly believe in my Lord Jesus Christ and that He saved me on the cross. Make this faithful reality something I express throughout my life. In His name, I pray. Amen.
Apostles’ Creed
I believe in God, the Father Almighty, maker of heaven and earth.
And in Jesus Christ, His only Son, our Lord, who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died and was buried. He descended into hell. The third day He rose again from the dead. He ascended into heaven and sits at the right hand of God the Father Almighty. From thence He will come to judge the living and the dead.
I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy Christian Church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and the life everlasting. Amen.
The Lord’s Prayer:
Our Father who art in heaven, hallowed be Thy name, Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven; give us this day our daily bread; and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us; and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For Thine is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever and ever. Amen.
